"2D OR NOT 2D Animation Festival" changes...

Hi everyone.

I just wanted to announce that we've now added Nancy Beiman to the speaker line-up for the "2D OR NOT 2D Animation Festival" since the original program was posted. So, if you haven't see that, you might want to check that out on the current website. She's a most hillarious writer and being an ex-Disney animator who has traveled the world with her work, she really knows her stuff about animation. Her new book "Preparing to Board" promises to be a classic work on animation in terms of 'storytelling', 'storyboarding' and 'character design'. I'm told it will be published by Focal Press at sometime in the new year.

Also, with regards the competition aspects of the festival... we've now opened the "Best Animation in a Student Film" section to any work that is maybe even a section of a (finished or unfinished) fulltime student film... or even a really well created pencil test sequence from a college assignment. Actually, with all the 'Best animation in..." competitive categories, as long as it demonstrates the art of good animation, we're definitely interested in considering it! Therefore, to accommodate this change, the entry date has now been moved back till OCTOBER 31st.

So students and independent filmmakers... please dust off those old pencil test and test animation sequences of yours... and even spread the word about it to others if you can! Smile

Many thanks!
