Welcome.

I haven't posted here for a while because it sort of seems like this little forum is now inactive. I checked in here today to see if there had been any activity .

I don't know why this never took off , but it just seems like the "action" is all on blogs and a couple of the big animation discussion forums (Animation Nation and Animation World Network). I was hoping this forum would take off as a place to exclusively discuss hand-drawn animation and hand-drawn animation techniques and tools . It's been awfully quiet recently.

What can we do to keep it going?

I was thinking the same thing. What can be done to make it active ? I suppose the simple answer is : start making more posts. But it wouldn't be too interesting if it came down to the same two or three members talking to themselves. I don't mind a small forum , but I think it needs more particpation than that to stay viable. I wonder if there's a way to poll the existing registered members on their level of interest.

I think this forum is a tremendous opportunity , to be focused exclusively on "2D" / hand-drawn animation. I wouldn't mind if it stays small in terms of membership, but small and active is the key .

I do think a lot of the wind has been taken out of the sails of discussion forums in general by the ascendancy of blogs.
A lot of the action seems to be on the better blogs, like Michael Sporn's or Mark Mayerson's, certainly Cartoon Brew.

And one wonders what's happened to Tony also...

I'm happy that finally find a forum that discussing about 2d animation. Not only flash animation, but more widely than that. There should be more topics to discuss here. But to start an idea about anything to discuss is another thing. Maybe one could tell about their experience in 2d animation, either it's about working or another. Well? why not try?

Hi Guys.

I'm sorry for the lack of response on my part but I'm still recovering from extended flu and bronchitis. I will be back in the saddle soon... watch this space... then maybe we can get some activity going on the 2D front!

Again, sorry for the loud silence that's been coming from this neck of the woods! Smile

Animated wishes to all...

Tony. :^{)}=-

Hey there, good to hear from you!
DavidN

Tony,

Sorry to hear about the health concerns. Hope you're on the mend and will be back up to speed soon.

Much appreciation for what you've contributed through your books and example with the 2D or Not 2D Animaticus web site and festival .

I hope this forum can bounce back to good health as well.

I hope you are feeling better!

Dear Tony, I'm sorry to hear that you are ill. Must be this gonzo winter weather we are having...here in Rochester we just got three inches of snow after a week of near-spring temperatures. I'm sorriest for the bees and birds, both of which were fooled out of hiding by the deceptive weather.
Get well soon!
