Scoring silent film-style music.I found this resource that I thought might be useful to anyone who is working on an old, silent-style cartoon (like I am). In 1913 a prolific composer of silent film music published a collection of short, simple pieces useful for theater pianists. Each piece is suited for a different type of scene. They sound pretty good. The site includes both the original sheet music in PDF format, and MIDI files of the pieces.

Very cool!
I've been playing around with a new application from Sony called Cinescore... it's good for quick and dirty musical bits without doing any actual composing and especially good for creating temp tracks for animatics.
