This is a great idea!

Hi Tony, et al!

I just picked up your new book and found out about this foundation. While I've never done any kind of professional work, I have been a fan of animation since I was a kid (quite a while) and experimented with cutout animation, rotoscoping and stop-motion animation as a teenager (bakc in the super 8 days!) As part of my mid-life crisis, I have decided to start pursuing this again, and have played around with some of 3D software as well as 2D vector software (Moho/Anime Studio Pro) but hand-drawn cel animation (and stop-motion animation) is, like any kind of handmade custom craft, something that can't be reproduced completely with a computer. I think there is still room for hand-drawn cel animation, no question about that!

I also would like to see more adult-oriented animation, not just cartoons for kids -- and this goes for the 3D CG animation especially. I'm a huge fan of Ralph Bakshi's 70s work, and you rarely see anything like that these days, mainly, I guess, because it's not as commercially viable.[/i]
